Mindfulness!

 Hey bloggers!

Over this term we have been doing mindfulness. It was a bit hard to concentrate at first, but now I can just go in and focus. We learnt some different types of breathes including: balloon breathe, candle breath, snake breath, rag doll breath. We also learnt some yoga moves that were very relaxing. My favourite parts were when we did things in partners and groups. One thing we did with the whole class was trying to get the hula hoop around the whole circle but you couldn't let go of hands, we also tried to do this in the pool and it was hilarious. We also did this great exercise in partners when we put our feet together and connected hands, it made almost everyone laugh. Anyway thank you for reading my blog, have a look these photos. Art Colouring Book!

 Hey bloggers,

Mr Marggets came in today, and we started the Summer Learning Journey! The Summer Learning Journey is a really cool way to learn, create, and share, in the holidays.  I created some art on the google Art Colouring book. It was really fun. What you do is pick a photo from the gallery they have, then colour the image as your own. I recommend it, there is a lot of photos to choose from. Here is the link to the Art gallery website! Down below there is two photos guess what one is the original and what one is mine. Anyway bloggers blog you later.

Finding out what teacher we have for Intermediate!

 Hey bloggers,

Today was an exciting day, I met my teacher for Intermediate. My teacher is called Mrs Power, the kids from my school I am with is Jaimie, Ari, and Jonathan. The first thing we did in our class was hear a bit about the school, and Mrs Power. Then we did a all about me sheet so Mrs Power would know all about us, and we also got a photo so Mrs Power could learn what we look like and our name. At the end of this we got notices and met back up in the hall. The last thing we did was go back to school, and tell everyone what teacher we got. Overall this was extremely exciting, and a little nerve racking. Anyway I can't wait to go to Intermediate next year, here is the link to the Intermediate site. Blog you later!

Skateboarding!

 Hey bloggers,

Who loves to skateboard? Well I do, and guess what I did today... skateboarding! For our new Kiwi Sports we get to do skateboarding. We have two teachers Ben, and Lawrence. I am going to talk about three things today, the first one is... What was great about the lessons and what was challenging. The next one is, what have we learnt, and the last one is, what have we gained from learning to skateboard. So you better get reading.

What was great about the lessons and what was challenging?

I really loved getting free time on the skateboards. I like to just ride around and sway. It is also fun to ride with your friends and talk, and laugh when you get a skill wrong. I found crab walks very challenging, I actually can't do the crab walks. But I will keep trying and practising. At first I also found just riding around hard, because there was too much people so I kept on almost getting crashed into.

What have we learnt?

I have learnt how to Tick Tack. Tick Tack is when you put your foot on the bottom of the board, and your other foot on the top, and then you press down on the bottom foot. We also learnt how to do a crab walk, that is when you put your feet on the sides and tick tack. I also learnt all of the parts of a skateboard, and some cool tricks.

What have I gained from learning how to skateboard?

I have gained a new really cool skill, that I can do in the weekends.  I have also gained a new way to travel around, I can go skateboarding to the park now. I have learnt to have a growth mindset about skateboarding. I have gained confidence on the skateboard too.

Anyway bloggers thanks for reading my blog, please enjoy the photos down below. Blog you later!

Production!

 Hey bloggers,

Last week was our school production, for our production the teachers chose to do a revised version of Jasmine and Aladdin. In the version of Aladdin I played Persia, Aladdin's best friend, kinda like the monkey in the actual movie.

The story line is Omar the evil Magician who wants to take over the kingdom of Has bah, has got Aladdin to go in to the cave of Wonders to get the lamp, Aladdin got the lamp and the Genie popped out. So Aladdin wanted to take Jasmine to travel the world. But she couldn't go because Omar was in the palace, So Persia, Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie, all stopped Omar. Then they all travelled the world together.

Now that you know the story line I am gonna take you through the experience of production. So the first thing that happens is we start rehearsing without props, we also had to practise online because of lock-down (but that is fine.) Then we start practising with props, then at the real venue we will be performing at we do some practises, and a dress rehearsal with an audience.

So now I have told you the lead up, here is what happened on the actual night. I walked went straight to the dressing room go my cat outfit on, my cat outfit contained of: A tail, cat ears, a vest, some pants. That was my costume, then I went to get my make up it was the most full on one out of everyone else. Then I got my head set on, and did a mic test. After that I went back stage, I felt a bit nervous but really excited. People started coming in I could see my family, then it was show time. I walked on stage and felt so alive, I was so happy with how it was going. After the show I felt amazing. Anyway bloggers that's my production experience, please look at the photos down below. Hey bloggers,

We have been apart of the Wonder Project, it has been going this term and last term. We have been doing a bunch of lessons around Wonder Project. We have been learning about; drag, friction, Newton's laws, and...a bunch of other things.

Everyone had a group. In my group was, Farhad, Nicholas, and Payton, we also had a group name our name was Operation Rocket 4.

We had to make a prototype rocket and on my group's prototype it had;

  • 3 fins
  • a cone
  • a hot glue top!
Ours didn't fly the farthest, so for our real rocket we modified some things. The changes were, bigger fins, better cones, less hot glue, and that was it. We flew 26.5 metres we didn't win, but that's okay it was really fun. Anyway bloggers thanks for letting me share my learning with you, please look at these videos and photos down below. P.E rotation!

 Kia Ora bloggers,

This week we did a P.E. rotation. We got into groups of four, my group was Jaimie, Brittany, Mahdi and myself. After we arranged ourselves in groups, we had to go find a cone. When the teachers yelled, "Go!" we had to lift up our cone. Under the cone there was a piece of paper with fitness instructions, like star jumps, burpees, running back and forth. Our group had to do as much of the fitness instruction as they could, until the whistle blew. When the whistled blew you had to go to a different cone, and do the fitness instruction it said under that cone. I thought it was fun, but extremely tiring. What is your favorite thing to do for fitness? Anyway blog you later, enjoy these photos down below.
