Matariki!

Hey bloggers,
Yesterday we had Matariki. You might be wondering what is Matariki? It is a time when you gather with your family, and share kai. It is also a time when seven stars other wise known as the seven sisters come out, and that is the sign for the Maori new year. This year we did three activities in class, they were all around Matariki. The first activity was retelling a Matariki story with stop motion. The story I chose was the seven sisters of Matariki. For this you had to make a backdrop, and charectars all out of paper. The second activity was manu tuku tuku kite making. What we had to do was make a border out of bamboo, then glue strips of paper with patters on them to the border. Now for the third, and final activity we made fried bread yum! What we did was mix flour, water, and a bit of oil. Then fry it in oil. After we fried it we went to a station, and put topping on. I put on the Fix & Fog hazelnut spread. My favorite activity was fried bread, because we got to eat yummy food. Anyway blog you later, enjoy these photos!
